Spring forward with fresh, new makeup featuring the official color of 2014. Radiant Orchid is a fantastic purple hue with vibrant fuchsia, pastel pink and subtle blue undertones. Dark or light, matte or glossy, day or night, wearing the right shade of Radiant Orchid will accentuate your best features.
Next time you go to the store, head to the cosmetics section and pick up some eye shadow, lipstick, nail polish or eyeliner in a purple shade that makes you feel fabulous. Then, choose a new look to try, and get started! You can even coordinate your makeup with smokeless cigarettes by Vapor Couture™, which come in four glamorous colors that complement any ensemble.
Here are some of our favorite makeup looks that feature Radiant Orchid:
Subtle and Sexy – Create a soft smoky eye with light purples and champagne colors. Make it seductive by finishing with black eyeliner, dusted with a bit of dark purple shadow to make it pop (don’t forget mascara!). You could also use dark purple eyeliner, but it won’t be as dramatic without black underneath. Add some pastel pink blush and lip gloss to keep it sexy, yet subtle… This is a wonderful look for a night out on the town, whether you’re with your man or your best girlfriends.
Pucker Up – Have some fun with your lips! Pick up a couple tubes of lipstick in different purple shades and get creative. Make sure your lips are hydrated first, then start layering on the color. For the day, keep the rest of your makeup simple – nude shadow with mascara on your eyes, and a light sweep of blush on your cheeks. At night, give yourself a charcoal smoky eye lined with dark purple shadow. Matte or glossy, you’ll be surprised at how flattering Radiant Orchid looks on your lips…
Fantas-Eyes – The smoky eye is a classic look that can be modernized by adding purple accents. Start by applying an eyeshadow primer, which will make the color more vibrant and keep the shadow in place. Apply lighter colors first, blending in the dark colors to create your perfect smoky eye. Apply thick black eyeliner to your upper and lower lids, and then line your eyes again with dark purple shadow. This is a fantastic look for any occasion, and can be altered to be more or less dramatic.
Go All Out – You don’t need to dye all of your hair purple to go all out with Radiant Orchid (but you can if you want!). Give your hair a couple of temporary streaks to try the look without commitment; go to a professional who will customize your color and make sure it looks sophisticated. If you’re not about to briefly alter your lovely locks (we understand!), you can still go all out – paint your nails and give yourself a vibrant purple smoky eye, with a light purple cheek tint and matching lipstick. Wear an outfit with Radiant Orchid accents. Just make sure to choose shades that flatter your skin tone. More ways to go all out: false eyelashes, creamy cheek tints and colored mascara.
While we love these looks, they’re really just suggestions; you have the freedom to choose how you wear your makeup. Do what makes you feel fabulous; there’s no wrong way to express yourself!
