Say “No!” to California Bill SB 648!

Date posted: March 29, 2013

SB-648The legislature in California is preparing to vote on a bill, titled SB 648, which would severely restrict residents’ ability to use their e-cigs. The bill would lower the availability of electronic cigarettes and raise their cost, significantly. Proposing to regulate e-cigs like tobacco products, the bill’s language states that, “the use of electronic cigarettes is a hazard to the health of the general public.”
If you are resident of California, YOU CAN HELP STOP THE BILL FROM BEING PASSED.
There is a public hearing being held by the legislature on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. in Sacramento at the State Capitol Building, Room #4203 (John L. Burton Room). If at all possible, plan to attend and show your support. We have enlisted the help of Mike Mullins, a concerned citizen who has assisted with arranging free bus transportation and lunch services for those able to participate in the hearing. Send him an email at Michael@digitalciggz.com and include the words “I would like to speak in Sacramento” in the subject line. For those of you unable to attend, send an email to Senate Health Committee Assistant, Alex Norring at alex.norring@sen.ca.gov. Share your story and tell him that you oppose SB 648.
THE PROVISIONS ABOVE ARE NOT LAW YET. BUT THEY WILL BE IF YOU DON’T MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD. SEE YOU IN SACRAMENTO!

Why? What is the reasoning that a e-cig is hazardous to anyone else?

If they are legislating for protection of others, I could understand that, but otherwise they are trying to restrict legal behavior and that is just wrong!

I have read the health notices and warnings for myself, and I CHOOSE to use e-cigs, and that should be a right if I am not putting anyone else in harms way!
